Exquisite French-inspired cuisine, an exemplary wine cellar and unparalleled service are offered under the direction of Chef de Cuisine Markus Glocker, who oversees the menus at Gordon Ramsay at The London while Restaurant Director Christopher Nez orchestrates the restaurant floor. A native of Austria, Markus has helped manage the kitchen since its opening in November 2006 where he joined the team following his tenure at Restaurant Steirereck in Vienna.
Born in Gallneukirchen, Austria, a small city near Linz, Markus discovered an interest in the arts at an early age, studying classical music as a child. He soon began working in his uncle’s hotel during school breaks while going on to pursue a career in the culinary arts. Markus enrolled in the culinary school in Linz and upon graduating, trained as a commis chef at the Restaurant Vier Jahreszeiten in Munich, Germany.
In 2001, Markus began working with Gordon Ramsay at his celebrated Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s in London. He then joined the three Michelin-starred Restaurant Eckart Witzigmann in Berlin, Germany before moving to the United States in 2003 to work in the kitchen of Charlie Trotter’s in Chicago for two years. In 2005, Markus moved back to Austria to work at the two Michelin-starred Restaurant Steirereck Vienna before returning back to the US in 2006 to serve as sous chef of Gordon Ramsay at The London in New York.
The seven-course Menu Prestige features fresh seasonal dishes such as roast cannon of lamb, olive crusted potatoes, Vidalia onions and lamb jus, Ravioli of tiger prawn with fennel cream, shellfish vinaigrette and chervil velouté., baked fluke with almond bread, celery hearts and Champagne velouté and to finish, mint chocolate fondant, milk ice cream and crème de menthe
Within the kitchen is The Chef’s Table: a renowned feature of five of Gordon’s UK restaurants.
